As an Australian medical doctor, Dr. Menon takes special care to put you at ease with her down-to-earth style.  She explains things clearly using plain, simple English (albeit with a strong Kiwi accent!).

She believes in transparency and respects your autonomy with regard to your health issues.  She will involve you in communications to your GP and will provide you with copies of those communications.


Policies & Procedures


  • A GP referral is required to book the first appointment.

  • If you are given a referral from a GP, then please send it to the clinic reception by

  • In other instances the clinic will call you to book your appointment.

  • For existing patients, the clinic will inform you if your referral is about to expire.  Please request a new GP referral; until then, another appointment cannot be booked since Medicare rebates depend on referrals being current.


  • Consultations are by appointment only 

  • A Background Information Form is to be completed online before your first appointment can be booked.

  • The clinic will send you a reminder on the working day immediately prior to your upcoming appointment.  The clinic will also notify you if the booked appointment has to be changed at short notice.

  • Ensure that your contact and Medicare details registered with the clinic are current.  Include a phone number where you are always contactable.

  • Inform the clinic at least 48 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your booked appointment.

  • Charges apply for non-attendance or late cancellation.


  • Consists of at least 2 appointments, each about one hour long.

  • First 2 appointments will be no more than one week apart.

  • Send any medical documents that you feel are relevant, along with details of all medication, herbal supplements or vitamins that you are taking.

  • You will be seen on your own for first appointment.  Family/friends/supports are welcome to attend subsequent appointments.

  • When initial assessment is completed, Dr. Menon will discuss with you the diagnosis and options for treatment.

  • Your input will be invited into the letter that is drafted to your GP.

  • When this letter has been edited and sent to your GP, Dr. Menon will ensure that a copy is made available to you.


  • All appointments after the initial assessment are follow up appointments.

  • The frequency will be arranged between you and Dr. Menon.

  • The duration will be determined by you and Dr. Menon, from the following:

    • 15 minutes

    • 30 minutes

    • 45 minutes


  • Same day settlement of account is required.

  • This practice has a private billing policy. 

  • Within the first 3 appointments, you will most likely have reached the Medicare safety net, in which case you will find that subsequent appointments attract only a tiny gap for you to cover out of pocket.

  • Details of the charges may be obtained from reception.

  • FRANZCP (Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists) since 2008.

  • Completed Advanced Training in Adult Psychiatry in Western Australia in 2008.

  • Completed Basic Training in Psychiatry in Auckland in 2006.

  • Completed Basic Medical Training, and registered with the New Zealand Medical Board in 1997.
